Reuters Business  Report -   Rupert Murdoch's British former newspaper boss, Rebekah Brooks, and Prime Minister David Cameron's ex-media chief , Andy Coulson, have appeared atWestminster Magistrate's Court to face charges linked to alleged corrupt payments to public officials.

The charges are the latest to stem from a tabloid scandal.

The two have already been charged in connection with phone hacking offences - the original crime that sparked a wider examination of the British press.

Cameron was faceing a no-win dilemma on Thursday when a far-reaching inquiry into British newspapers delivers its verdict on how to curb the excesses of the country's notoriously aggressive press.
