Mukesh Ambani, the India's billionaire industrialist, will soon move into his recently completed mansion in Mumbai, which boasts of a glass tower worth $1.8 billion, believed to be inspired by the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA (OCTOBER 15, 2010) ANI - Asia's richest man, industrialist Mukesh Ambani, is set to move into a new home valued at 1.8 billion U.S. dollars.
The multi-storeyed glass tower, recently completed in Mumbai, is reportedly inspired by the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The 27 floor building, called Antilla after the mythical Atlantic island, houses three helipads, nine lifts, a cinema hall, a gymnasium, a crystal-bedecked ballroom, a garden level and parking spaces for 168 cars.
The 398,000 square foot house was built in seven years and is located at Altamount Road, a residential property approximately 10 times more expensive than any other in world.
Ambani will move into the mansion with his mother, wife and three children, as well as 600 staff.
Ambani has been Chairman and Managing director of Reliance Industries since 1981, which is the largest private sector enterprise in India. Ambani who own a 48 per cent stake in the company is worth around 30 billion U.S. dollars- securing his position as the world's fourth richest man.
